| Hi guys, I'm desperate to learn and understand how to tune different cars, but cannot get to grips with it! I'm not a hardcore automobile fan, so the technical terms of camber, toe, rebound and the sorts kinda confuse me a little. I've read the descriptions over and over and am beginning to get an idea of what they are but do not understand what settings to use for different outcomes. Ive tried looking at the majority of all your tunes, and again, get confused. Like, how do you know what to set the differential at, or the bump stiffness etc. Any helpful tips would be great Bickel has already begun trying to help me get to grips with it, and for that I am extremely grateful. But I need a crash course in tuning from you all I think before Bickel gets bored of repeating himself For instance, Say I wanted to tune an AWD A class Audi R8, to run on say.........Mugello, where would you begin? | |

| My first advice would be to buy a random car. Put ALL of the handling upgrades in it and then just start adjusting things. If you don't know what something does or how it affects the car. Adjust it to the extremes and test out how that makes the car react. Then its all about how the car feel or reacts to your input tuning or driving it. Example could be if you think the car is understeering. You could try Lowering the front Anti Roll bars or Front springs. But be careful because you could also make the car oversteer as you exit or enter a corner. These things will also feel different or react different when your tuning RWD,FWD,AWD..... Really its one MASSIVE balancing act to tune the car to the very edge of its capabilities without making it spin or kill somebody on the track lol. If I was just starting out again, I would just go out, buy that R8. Load all the handling upgrades into it (Cause its for mugelo) and start playing around with the settings. Or even pick a small track where you can keep going through the same corner over and over so you can see what the adjustments are doing to the handleing or speed of the car. Start with that and keep ASKING QUESTIONS! Always happy to help If you think the car could be better in some aspect or you can't fix something. Just post here and we can get you pointed in the right direction. There is NO set way to tune. It all comes with playing around with different setups and trying new things. LIKE PAINTING! But you need to understand what your doing to the car and how thats making it faster, smoother, turns in better, accels faster, more/less oversteer/understeer, what it does when you touch a rumble strip.....Its kinda daunghting at first. But you gotta start somewhere right | |

| Ok guys. Ive been playing around with the idea of tuning and I'm pleased to announce Ive tuned a VW Golf R32 capable of running 00:40.552 around Tsukuba Short. This time was set by PostmanSouthie (dunno if you've heard of him). Anyway, I also sent one over to Sane from S&R tuning to test as he is ranked 7 on that track, and I know him quite well so thought if anyone can test it, he can. So he comes back to me saying Postman was lying, and that he could only manage a 00:41.200. I thought this was odd because I can run a 00:41.351 in it, and there's no way on earth I'm a good enough driver to only be 100th of a second slower than Sane! Maybe it just didnt suit his driving style, who knows? Anyway, I sent a copy to Bickel last night to try out, and he ran 00:40.725 within 10 laps, so its safe to say this tune is good for the top 500 on tsukuba short in the right hands. So I'd like to take this opportunity to say...............WOOHOO! I tuned a car! who wants one?? | |

| No Bret, no silver, no way, never. Although it may work. I want to keep this beast blue. But if you want a copy then maybe I could be persuaded to change yours to silver. | |

| They both are so close together. I think the VW has alittle advantage cause it has a V-6 with the torque coming out the tight turns but I believe the Pug has a weight advantage so it is very close. | |

| Tsukuba only a 54:531 for me... Suzuka East 49:206 ... far away from great for me, but Bickel, YOU should try it there, I was close to my Godzilla often! similar on LAguna Seca. But maybe I shoud really try in the morning lol... Anyway, even if no Top 100 or whatever car, I love it - honestly! | |

| Yeah I will give Suzuka East a try that is a track that I am fairly good at maybe cause all the laps in the R32. I will also try Laguna cause of the FWD contest I might do well there too. | |
